From the Field: 50,000 Receive Safe Water on Mombasa Island

Mombasa Island in Kenya faced a public health emergency: a dense population of 50,000 with no consistent access to safe drinking water. The situation was urgent. The conditions were tough. The need was immediate.

WaterStep, working with local partners, deployed BleachMaker units and trained community members to produce disinfectant onsite. Within weeks, 50,000 residents had reliable safe water and the disinfectant needed to keep clinics, schools, and homes safe. Read the full story →
